So this is happening AGAIN.
We had a quiet weekend here with dinner guests on Friday night and not much else happening besides playing, crafting, napping and a little decor update.
Because Spring is {hopefully} right around the corner, I made a few minor edits to my seasonal decor for the month of March.
I used things I had around the house and made about $5 in purchases.
Not too shabby!
For starters, I swapped my Valentine's Day pink candle for a white one, adding split peas ($1.29 a bag at the grocery store) as vase filler in my medium hurricane candle holder.
Easy peasy, pun intended.
Then I corralled my hand soap, lotion and kitchen candle in this fun little gold wire tray.
Prepare to have your mind blown here.
I was treasure hunting for furniture to refinish and/or stuff to spray pain at Goodwill the other day and snagged this little tray for a whopping $.50!
I may change the color or use it elsewhere down the road, but for now it's a nice fit on my kitchen counter. I am always wiping down countertops, so it's nice to be able to pick the whole thing up when I'm cleaning.
Because Easter is in a few short weeks, I added this sweet little bunny from Hobby Lobby to the white snowflake platter I was already using in my kitchen vignette.
I swapped out a light green hydrangea for the pink one I used in February.
Finally I used a smaller spray painted wine bottle and filled it with pretty faux cherry blossoms to replace the gold branches I displayed through the winter months.
I also made a few changes to my mantel by replacing the apothecary jar filler with a blue mix.
Then I brought my pedestal holders back out topped with blue candles.
I'll share a finished spring mantel once I make a few more little updates.
I love taking my time swapping out little elements here and there to refresh my household decor.
It's much less overwhelming than updating everything at once!
Happy {almost} Spring, friends!
I love all of your touches of thrifted decor! C'mon Spring!!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your beautiful jars and candle holders. I also love the idea of the lentils nesting your candle as well.
ReplyDeleteVery nice thrifted decor. I'd say we have snow up to our eyeballs here, but it bypassed "eyeball" level weeks ago. Anything that helps us stay cheerful is a good thing. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet little bunny.
ReplyDeleteIf you will it hard enough, the snow will melt and spring will arrive soon! Lovely touches of decor. I like the blue.
ReplyDeleteThank you for tossing your hat into the ring at the Party Under The Big Top! I hope to see you again next week!

I love the "little touches" you have swapped out as part of your decor. I am just like you when it comes to these things and will swap out smaller details a little at a time instead of doing a HUGE makeover. I like changing things up for the different holidays/seasons and the smaller details are by far much more manageable!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with us at Party Under the Big Top! I’m glad you were able to make it over to the #BigTopBlogParty this week! Hope to see you again at the next Party Under the Big Top! As a reminder, we go LIVE every Tuesday morning at midnight EST!
Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
Much love,
Lysa xx
